In true​ Dutch-colonial fashion, the entrance to the home opens up to a full room. In most Dutch-colonial homes, this room is relatively small and features just table, bench, and staircase. This home, however, features a larger room, which has been turned into a formal sitting room.

The room off the sitting room is used as the main entertaining space, with plenty of seating, a working fireplace, and a dutch door, which opens up to the new patio.
